Il Convito della Venaria, in Venaria Reale opposite the Reggia, serves modern Italian cuisine led by chef Christian Contu. At lunch it operates as an informal bistrot; at dinner it offers a gourmet menu in dining rooms overlooking the Reggia, plus a summer dehor and private salons. Contu draws on Sardinian and Piedmont roots, worked at Antica Zecca and San Domenico in New York, and placed second in the Riso Gallo contest with a risotto blending Piedmontese and Sardinian traditions.
