Description

The 2011 Sassontino from Casanova della Spinetta is a red wine labeled Toscana Sangiovese IGT from the Casanova estate in Terricciola (Pisa). It is produced from 100% Sangiovese grown on the Sassontino vineyard, planted on sandy soils with notable oceanic sediments. Vinification includes controlled maceration and fermentation, malolactic fermentation in French oak and roughly 24 months of oak ageing (20% new), followed by extended bottle ageing.
