Description

The 2021 I Sodi di San Niccolò from Castellare di Castellina is a Toscana IGT from Castellina in Chianti. It is made mainly from Sangioveto with a portion of Malvasia Nera; grapes are vinified separately and the wine undergoes extended aging in barriques (partly new) before bottling. Aromas of ripe red fruit, spice and licorice are complemented on the palate by a dense texture, silky tannins, lively acidity and a long finish. While approachable when young, the wine also has clear potential for long-term aging.
