Castello di Neive’s Barbaresco Gallina comes from the southwestern side of the Gallina geographical mention in Neive. The estate acquired part of the land together with the castle in 1964 and grows Nebbiolo on this exposure, reserving the eastern slope for varieties requiring greater freshness. Since 2008, some of Gallina’s Nebbiolo has been selected for a separate bottling. The wine combines structure with an approachable character, supported by tannins the estate describes as supple and elegant. Its identity is closely linked to the combination of exposure, soil and established vineyards.
