Description

The Merlot Riserva Vigna Kastelaz 2023 from Elena Walch is a single-vineyard Merlot from the Vigna Kastelaz site in Termeno within the Alto Adige DOC. Grapes are hand-harvested on very steep terraces; vinification includes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation followed by roughly 18 months of ageing in French oak barriques. The wine shows aromas of cherry and plum with subtle toasty hints and delivers supple tannins, balanced structure and concentrated fruit on the palate.
