Ecràl 2020 is the first vintage of Haras de Pirque’s Carménère, made from organic vineyards at Pirque in the upper Maipo Andes valley. Different parcel exposures require separate harvesting according to grape ripeness. A brief cold maceration precedes alcoholic fermentation; the wine then moves to French oak barriques for malolactic fermentation and maturation before blending. Its colour is intense cherry red. Dark fruit, spices and floral nuances accompany a fresh, persistent palate, with supple tannins defining a smooth texture and the wine’s expression of its origin.
