Description

Il Soccombente from I Clivi is a red wine from the Friuli Colli Orientali appellation made exclusively from Schioppettino grapes. The fruit comes from south-east facing vineyards in Albana di Prepotto on ponca soils; fermentation is carried out in concrete using a submerged-cap technique with native yeasts. The wine completes malolactic fermentation and spends about 12 months in 300 L oak barrels (half new), and is produced in limited quantities.
