Pedro Balda's Rioja Vendimia Seleccionada 2014 is a red wine made entirely from Tempranillo grapes grown on old vines (around 65 years) in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Rioja. Hand-selected, less compact bunches undergo spontaneous carbonic maceration and the wine is aged in oak barrels for over a year. Production is very limited and the winemaking follows a minimal-intervention approach; wines are typically unfiltered and made without added sulfites. The wine offers concentrated fruit character with red-berry notes, dark spice hints and a balanced structure.
