Frequently asked questions
From choosing a wine to your appointment: practical answers to help you find your way before booking.
01How do I choose a wine?
You can start in the wine catalogue by searching for a label or producer, or open a restaurant page and explore its selection. Open the wine page to read its details and see the venues that offer it by the glass.
Choose the offer at the venue where you want to taste it and check the vintage, bottle format and price per glass shown. A wine appearing in the catalogue does not mean it is always bookable: the offers and availability shown for that wine and venue guide your next step.
02How do I book glasses?
Open the booking flow from the wine offer at your chosen venue. Select the number of glasses, a date and one of the available services. Before continuing, make sure the day and service are the ones you want: glass availability is checked for that selection.
The review shows the wine, venue, appointment, quantity and price. You can return to your selections before proceeding with confirmation. Read the instructions and any further steps requested in the flow; once confirmed, you can find the booking in your account.
03When does the bottle open?
Sharing brings together booked glasses until the minimum opening threshold shown for the bottle is reached. The required number appears in the booking flow and on the event page: there is no single number that applies to every wine.
On the event page you can see how many glasses are booked and the opening status. Confirmation of your booking and confirmation of the bottle opening are separate pieces of information: check the bottle status before your appointment, rather than assuming it will open just because you have booked.
04When can I taste the wine?
Your appointment is the one shown in the summary: check the venue, day and selected service or time. Once opening is confirmed, these details tell you where and when to enjoy the wine you chose.
If the bottle is still awaiting opening, check the event page to follow its status. For practical arrival information or specific needs, use the venue contact details available on its page.
05Why can’t I find an available date or service?
Dates and services depend on availability at the venue. A dot on the calendar marks days with available services; glass availability is then checked for the service you select. The number of glasses you can choose is limited to the availability offered in the flow.
If a day has no bookable services, choose another date or use the first-available-date search when it is shown. If the check fails, use Retry: a loading error is not confirmation of availability. You can also return to the wine page and consider another venue.
06Do I need an account to book?
You can explore the catalogue and public pages without an account. To complete a booking, you need to sign in or create an account: the flow asks you to do so when needed and returns you to the booking.
After signing in, review the summary before confirming. Your account lets you find your bookings and their details, using the same account you booked with.
07Does booking glasses also book a table?
The flow described on these pages is for booking glasses. Do not treat the wine summary as automatic confirmation of a table: choosing a day and service identifies your appointment for the glasses.
If you need a table or want to clarify how your visit will work, check directly with the venue before your appointment. Available contact details are on its page. This helps you organise the tasting around your needs.
08How can I ask for help?
You can email info@winesharing.app with questions about using Wine Sharing or about a booking. Include the wine, venue and selected day or service; if you have already booked, add the details that help identify it.
For practical venue information, such as arrival or a table request, use the contact details on its page instead.
