Description

Alain Graillot's La Guiraude is a barrel selection of pure Syrah Crozes-Hermitage, made when the harvest provides lots suited to this interpretation. The cuvée therefore brings together wines selected in the cellar rather than identifying a single vineyard. Its origins include alluvial sand, gravel and stones near Pont-de-l'Isère. Hand-picked grapes ferment as whole bunches with indigenous yeasts in concrete; maturation uses previously filled barrels. The profile combines concentration, harmony and structure, with an ability to evolve that accompanies the wine's development over time.
