Description
Domaine Alain Michelot Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Saint-Georges is a Pinot Noir from deep, very stony, reddish-brown soils with a fine clay component and Bathonian limestone gravel. Vines are Guyot pruned; hand harvesting precedes careful grape selection. After cold maceration, fermentation is accompanied by punching down. Pressing takes place at the end of alcoholic fermentation, after which the wine moves into barrels for malolactic fermentation and maturation. The name refers to a site already planted with vines during the medieval period.
