Sensuum Vertigo is among Alexandre Filaine’s rarest selections, made by Fabrice Gass in his small domaine in Damery. The Vallée de la Marne vineyard rests on chalk, with clay coverings that vary between parcels, and is planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier. Winemaking retains a hands-on character from vineyard to cellar, with fermentation in old barrels inherited from his experience at Bollinger. The Italian importer describes a taut, fresh profile threaded with spice, anise and aromatic herbs. Effervescence accompanies a disciplined, complex structure, expressing the patient work devoted to this particular cuvée.
