Description

Alpha One explores the Amyndeon plateau in northwestern Macedonia through a selection entrusted to the winemaker each year. For this PGI Florina red, Alpha Estate chooses the harvest’s seventeen best barrels rather than adhering to an unchanging grape blend. The fruit is destemmed without crushing and undergoes a cold soak before fermentation, lees work and oak maturation. In the estate’s general description, dark fruit, blackcurrant and spice accompany a rich, sustained palate. The wine presents the region through the careful selection of individual lots from each harvest.
