Description

Antico Broilo’s Merlot comes from Prepotto in the Friuli Colli Orientali and is made entirely from this grape variety. The estate considers it part of local tradition, where Merlot has long found a place alongside indigenous grapes. Vineyard work aims to restrict production by leaving only a few bunches on each vine. Fermentation takes place spontaneously through indigenous yeasts, and the wine continues its development in barriques. Wood maturation therefore accompanies an approach centred on grape selection and continuity with the winegrowing traditions of the surrounding area.
