Description

Charmes-Chambertin is Antonin Guyon's Grand Cru from Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits. Pinot Noir grows on clay-limestone soils in well-exposed parcels. Harvesting by hand into small crates is followed by grape selection at the winery, then vinification in wooden vats with cap punching and temperature control. Maturation takes place in oak barrels. The wine combines a ruby colour and cherry aromas with a rich structure that also retains finesse. Its profile suits dishes such as roast leg of lamb, coq au vin and game, all suggested accompaniments for this red Burgundy.
