Description
Les Vergelesses is a Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru from the Guyon family, near Ile des Vergelesses between Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-lès-Beaune. Pinot Noir is grown on clay-limestone soils. Hand harvesting into small crates is followed by winery sorting and vinification in wooden vats, with cap punching and temperature control. The wine matures in oak. Its profile includes a garnet colour, redcurrant and raspberry, with a balanced palate and tannins accompanied by subtle oak nuances. Roasts, poultry and cheeses are suggested food matches for this red expression of the Premier Cru.
