Aurélien Verdet Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Damodes comes from the upper slope north of Nuits, before the boundary with Vosne-Romanée. The parcel includes vines planted in 1960. Its general character suggests red plums and damsons, with a firm structure and complex palate. Grapes are harvested by hand; cold maceration and gentle extraction precede maturation in oak. New wood is used in a restrained proportion, while pumping over and punching down are adjusted according to the character of the vintage and fruit.
