Description

50&50 began in 1988 through the partnership between Avignonesi and Capannelle, two Tuscan estates bringing their individual identities into one wine. The blend combines equal parts Avignonesi Merlot and Capannelle Sangiovese, connecting Montepulciano with the Chianti Classico area. Maturation in barrique accompanies a deep ruby colour and floral suggestions of violet and rose petals. On the palate, freshness and softness find a balance, supported by ripe, silky tannins and a broad, persistent finish. The wine pairs naturally with roast meats, game and strongly flavoured cheeses, reflecting the structure of its two complementary grape varieties.
