Description
The 2014 Barolo Riserva Bricco Voghera is a Nebbiolo-based Barolo Riserva from Azelia in Serralunga d’Alba, Piedmont. Fermentation uses indigenous yeasts and the wine is matured for about five years in large wooden casks followed by an additional five years in bottle; the cru’s vines average around 95 years old and grow on clay-limestone soils with southern exposure. Aromas include dried flowers, ripe red and black fruit with plum and dark chocolate notes; on the palate it is concentrated, with rounded tannins and a long finish.
