Vigna Valferana represents one of the historic foundations of Nervi’s vineyard holdings in Gattinara. The vineyard entered the family story through Margherita Ferretti, who married Luigi Nervi in 1910, and was presented as a separate cru from 1970. Here, northern Piedmont’s Nebbiolo grows in soils rich in volcanic porphyry and clay at the foot of the Alps. Fermentation in wood and extended cask maturation maintain a traditional approach. The wine therefore offers an individual interpretation of its territory, connecting the continuity of the vineyard with the estate’s commitment to wines capable of ageing.
