Description

Poggio all’Oro is Banfi’s single-vineyard Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, made only in vintages selected by the estate. Its Sangiovese grows in well-drained clay and silt soils containing limestone-derived stones and pebbles. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in Horizon vats, which combine stainless steel and French oak. The vines are spur-cordon trained; maturation uses both large and small French oak vessels. First produced from the 1985 harvest, this label has a long history within Banfi’s exploration of Sangiovese and the vineyards of Montalcino.
