Description

Belargus Écharderie is a sweet Chenin from the Coteaux du Layon Chaume Premier Cru appellation. Its plots surround the place of the same name, which housed the cellar of the lords of Haute-Guerche until the French Revolution; they cultivated Chaume for Ronceray Abbey. Schist and conglomerate meet beneath the vines, a combination the estate associates with mineral complexity and a slight bitter accent on the palate. The cuvée belongs to Belargus’s exploration of Anjou Noir, expressing the differences between its sites through a single grape variety.
