Description

Old Weka Pass Road is Bell Hill's more approachable expression of Pinot Noir from its North Canterbury vineyard. The fruit comes entirely from the estate, established in an old limestone quarry in the Weka Pass, and often includes younger vines. According to the producer, this earlier accessibility still carries the influence of the site's marine-derived limestone soils. Vineyard blocks are harvested and fermented separately so their individual character can develop before blending. The cuvée brings together a clear connection to its place of origin and a Pinot Noir expression intended to be enjoyed sooner.
