Description
Bollinger R.D. 2008 combines Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from eighteen crus, with the former predominating. Fermentation takes place entirely in oak; extended time on the lees precedes disgorgement close to release. Its Extra Brut dosage accompanies a complex profile introduced by marzipan, stewed apricot, honey and bergamot. Citrus, Mirabelle plum and peach emerge on the palate, supported by precise effervescence. Fresh hazelnut and a saline component mark the finish, bringing aromatic maturity together with liveliness across the palate and through the wine’s lingering final expression.
