Description

Bond’s St. Eden takes its name from a historical designation used on nineteenth-century maps of the Oakville area. It comes from a north-facing rocky knoll just beyond Oakville Crossroad in Napa Valley. The reddish soils derive from fractured, iron-rich volcanic rock deposited by a landslide from the Vaca Mountains. The cuvée’s profile combines blackcurrant, dark chocolate and roasted herbs with a mineral component. On the palate, fruit concentration is accompanied by evident breadth and fine-grained tannins. The wine’s identity remains closely tied to this single site and its distinctive northern exposure.
