Borgo del Tiglio’s Malvasia reflects Nicola Manferrari’s attachment to Malvasia Istriana and the Collio. When the season allows, brief cold maceration helps draw aromas from the skins, before the must ferments in small, previously used wooden barrels. In the producer’s general account, youthful suggestions of rose give way to spicy white pepper as the wine develops. A persistent flavour combines with a gentle character that complements food without overwhelming it. Fish is a particular recommendation, consistent with the wine’s measured presence at the table.
