Description

Bouchard Père & Fils Volnay Clos des Chênes takes its name from an old oak woodland that has long disappeared. This Pinot Noir Premier Cru comes from clay-limestone soils over limestone bedrock, facing southeast on the slope. Grapes are picked and sorted by hand; fermentation in small vessels and gentle pressing precede maturation in French oak barrels. The wine’s character is expressed particularly through its rich, concentrated palate, combining generosity and depth with the finesse and elegance associated with Volnay and the capacity to develop in bottle.
