Description

En Chevret is a Volnay Premier Cru on the boundary with Meursault, with clay-limestone soils over limestone bedrock. Its name refers to a natural hollow that was filled to allow vines to be planted. Bouchard Père & Fils grows Pinot Noir here, harvested and sorted by hand before fermentation in small vessels. Gentle pressing is followed by maturation in French oak barrels. The bouquet offers fresh red fruit with both depth and delicacy. A balanced palate is supported by silky tannins and persistence, alongside the capacity to develop in bottle.
