Bouchard Père & Fils Volnay Frémiets Clos de la Rougeotte comes from an early-ripening sector on the edge of Volnay towards Pommard. The name Rougeotte refers to the vines’ early autumn colouring. Pinot Noir grows on southeast-facing clay-limestone soils over a bed of marl. Hand harvesting and sorting are followed by fermentation in small vessels, gentle pressing and maturation in French oak barrels. The profile combines red fruit, darker fruit nuances and sweet spice. The palate balances body and a fleshy texture, while retaining elegance and length.
