Bricco dell’Uccellone is Braida’s Barbera d’Asti DOCG, grown on the estate’s hillsides at Rocchetta Tanaro. Its name recalls the nickname of a woman who lived near the vineyards. Temperature-controlled skin maceration is followed by maturation in oak barriques and further ageing in bottle. In the winery’s general profile, red fruit and berries are joined by hints of mint, vanilla and liquorice. The palate is broad and supple, with substantial structure and persistence. The producer’s suggested food pairings include roast meats and mature cheeses.
