Bruno Rocca’s Barbaresco Marcorino is made from Nebbiolo grown just below the medieval village of Neive. The vineyard retains old vines and represents a distinct origin within the family’s range. It belongs to the Barbaresco hills, where soils of marine origin combine marl, limestone and sandy layers that contribute to the character of individual sites. Marcorino is distinguished by power, structure and an austere personality. The wine centres on one vineyard and its capacity to produce Nebbiolo that develops over time while retaining a clear connection to its place of origin.
