Description

By Farr’s Shiraz comes from the family’s original vineyard, planted in 1994 in the Geelong area of Victoria. The north-facing slope has a reddish, iron-rich surface over a limestone base. The cuvée includes a small component of Viognier, fermented together with the Shiraz. Manual harvesting and spontaneous fermentation with some whole bunches precede maturation in French oak. The wine forms part of Gary and Nick Farr’s work interpreting the differences between vineyards in the Moorabool Valley through cellar practices attentive to their individual origins and character.
