Description

Magari is the Bolgheri Rosso of Ca’ Marcanda, the Gaja family’s Tuscan estate. The blend combines Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from vineyards with dark, clay-rich soils and lighter soils containing limestone and stones. The varieties are handled separately, and maturation includes time in oak followed by rest in bottle. Its name plays on the different meanings of the Italian expression, between possibility and desire. The wine’s identity emerges from the meeting of three Bordeaux varieties with the contrasting elements of Bolgheri’s vineyard landscape.
