Description

Promis 2023 brings together Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese at the Gaja family's Tuscan estate. Fruit comes from Bolgheri and neighbouring Bibbona, mainly from dark soils rich in clay and limestone. The three varieties ferment separately and mature in oak before blending and further bottle ageing. The vintage sheet highlights black pepper, cloves, fresh cherry, rhubarb and roasted coffee, with an approachable structure and a lightly smoky finish. Its name evokes the promise of a new chapter in Tuscany, combining international grapes and Sangiovese within the landscape of the coastal wine region.
