Calabretta’s La Contrada dei Centenari is a red wine made from centenarian vines in the Solicchiata contrada on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. It is produced mainly from Nerello Mascalese (occasionally with a small addition of Nerello Cappuccio) using traditional winemaking methods and wood ageing. Aromas typically show red fruit, volcanic ash and subtle spice, while the palate is mineral, tensile and supported by fine tannins and an elegant structure. Pairs well with roasted meats, game and aged cheeses.
