Description

Canalicchio di Sopra’s Riserva is a Sangiovese Brunello di Montalcino produced in limited quantities only in vintages selected by the estate. Grape selection favours the oldest vineyards, with Vigna Vecchia Mercatale in the Canalicchio cru playing a central role. The project seeks balance between fruit and acidity, depth and the ability to develop in bottle. Winemaking includes fermentation in stainless steel followed by maturation in Slavonian oak casks. First produced with the 1987 harvest, this label represents the estate’s selection conceived with long-term development in mind.
