Description

Barca Velha 2015 draws on selected grapes grown at different elevations in the Douro Superior, with Quinta da Leda central to its origins. Casa Ferreirinha reserves the name for vintages it considers exceptional, continuing a wine history that began in 1952. Low rainfall and hot conditions in July and August shaped the 2015 season, followed by a short harvest. The producer describes complexity, structure and clearly expressed fruit, together with grace and persistence. Its considerable capacity to develop with age was decisive in the decision to declare the vintage.
