Description

Negus from Cascina del Colle is a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC made in the Villamagna/Vacri area from 100% Montepulciano grapes trained on the traditional pergola. It shows a deep red colour with aromas of very ripe red fruit, undergrowth and spices such as cinnamon, together with notes of coffee and cocoa. On the palate it is full-bodied and tannic yet balanced, with flavours of chocolate, leather and licorice; the wine is aged in barrique for approximately 18–24 months. It pairs well with rich meat dishes and aged cheeses, and can also be enjoyed as an after-dinner contemplative wine.
