Description

Cascina Fontana Barolo is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown on three estate cru sites (Villero, Valletti/Mariondino and Gallinotto/Giachini) in the Barolo hills. Grapes are harvested and vinified separately with extended macerations; the wine is aged two years in large Slavonian oak casks (25–27 hl), then further matured in cement vats and spends at least six months in bottle. It presents a structured, elegant profile with fine tannins and lively acidity; aromas shift from fruit to roses, liquorice and earthy/tar notes. The finish is long and persistent, indicating good aging potential.
