Barbaresco Roncagliette

Description

Roncagliette is Olek Bondonio's Barbaresco from the family parcel beside his home, within one of the village's historic crus. Nebbiolo grows on clay-limestone soils in an environment influenced by air currents and humidity from the nearby river valley. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in concrete, followed by extended maceration and maturation in large oak casks. Bottling involves neither fining nor filtration. This restrained approach favours the expression of the grapes, preserving a direct relationship between the wine, the Roncagliette vineyard and the everyday work carried out at La Berchialla.
