Description

Lieto is Rie and Hiroto Sasaki’s skin-contact Moscato Bianco from their small estate in Castiglione Tinella. For the 2021 vintage, fruit from the old Brosia vineyard ferments spontaneously in neutral vessels without temperature control. Time on the skins is followed by maturation in fibreglass and an extended rest in bottle, with neither fining nor filtration. Established in 2018, the project relies heavily on observation and tasting to guide decisions. This interpretation of Moscato centres on the relationship between grape maturity, skin contact and time, reflecting the couple’s deliberately patient approach in the cellar.
