Description

Pinot Nero della Sala is produced by Castello della Sala — Marchesi Antinori and is made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes. The vineyards extend roughly 4 hectares at over 400 m above sea level on the Castello della Sala estate near Orvieto; production began in 1990 and the wine is commercially classified as Umbria IGT. Vinification includes a short cold maceration, fermentation in stainless steel and a period of aging in barriques before bottling.
