Riserva Perno is the only Barolo Riserva of Castello di Perno in Monforte d'Alba: it comes from Vigna della Croce, 0.3 hectares planted in 1940 with Nebbiolo Michet on mainly schistous soils. It ages 72 months between large Austrian oak casks and bottle. The 2017 is elegant and complex, with fruit, flowers and spice over dense tannins.
