Description

Filo di Seta comes from Castello Romitorio’s Sangiovese vineyards in the northwestern part of Montalcino. Its name belongs to a small stream running through the woodland around the estate. Grapes are sorted both before and after destemming, then fermented with their skins in temperature-controlled concrete vats, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. After settling and separation from the sediment, the wine matures in wood and continues its development in bottle. A painting by Sandro Chia appears on the label, linking this Brunello to the estate’s artistic identity.
