La Prima is Castello Vicchiomaggio’s Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from Greve in Chianti. It is made mainly from Sangiovese (about 90%) with a small portion of Merlot (about 10%) from the single vineyard La Prima. The wine undergoes extended ageing in French barriques (approximately 26 months) and additional bottle ageing before release.
