Catena Zapata’s White Stones comes from twenty-seven selected rows within Block 1 of the Adrianna vineyard, in Gualtallary, in Mendoza’s Tupungato area. The name recalls the oval white pebbles covering the ground beneath the vines. The parcel lies around 1,450 metres above sea level on an ancient river bed, with poor, stony soils that drain readily. Cool nights encourage slow ripening and the retention of acidity. This Chardonnay therefore focuses on a precisely defined part of the Andean landscape and its particular growing conditions.
