Description

Chandon de Briailles’ Les Lavières comes from a Savigny-lès-Beaune parcel planted in 1956. The vineyard sits halfway up the slope, facing south, with clay in the surface layer. Thin strata of limestone appear at shallow depth: these laves give the site its name and were once used to cover roofs. The connection with this rock is central to the producer’s description. The wine combines a floral bouquet with a pronounced mineral character, while a saline impression on the finish accompanies the savoury quality of the palate.
