Description
Chanterêves' Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes from Chardonnay grown above Pernand-Vergelesses, halfway up a west-facing slope. This position encourages slower ripening. The grapes are sourced from a grower close to the maison, who uses biodynamic methods and horse ploughing. Crushing and a prolonged pressing cycle are followed by fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine matures in barrels before continuing to rest on fine lees in stainless steel. This interpretation of the grand cru is grounded in careful vineyard work and a measured approach in the cellar, supporting the identity of its origin.
