Description

Les Valozières comes from the northern portion of the climat, immediately beneath Corton Bressandes. Its Pinot Noir vines were planted in the 1940s, face east and grow in clay-rich soils. The parcel has a long history of organic cultivation and supplies grapes to Charles Lachaux's small wine business. Native-yeast fermentation with whole bunches and restrained extraction reflects his aim of allowing the vineyard to speak clearly. Bottling without fining or filtration completes an approach centred on the quality of the fruit, the identity of the site and close attention to detail.
