Description

Chartogne-Taillet's Heurtebise is a Blanc de Blancs from a single Chardonnay parcel, facing south but exposed to winds that moderate its warmth. The soil combines Thanetian sand, clay and sandstone, with water behaviour that requires a different response in each season. Alexandre Chartogne adapts his cellar work to the sensitivity of this site, including how he handles oak maturation. The importer identifies palate tension and crystalline minerality as recurring traits of the cuvée. It is a focused vineyard interpretation in which exposure and soil contribute together to the wine's balance.
